Lantern Parade

The NFS FF MU invites you to the traditional Lantern Parade through the streets of Brno. Let us recall together the events that should not be forgotten and let us light Brno up again. Let us recall together to 17. 11. 1939 and 1989.

The parade will begin at 17:30 on náměstí Svobody. Then we will continue to the first stop at Moravské náměstí, from where the historical route leads through Komenského náměstí to the Faculty of Arts. Then we stop at the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the VUT and the Faculty of Law, where candles are traditionally lit to commemorate the deceased. The last two stops will be Kaunicovy koleje and Kraví hora. At each stop, we will remember the events of 1939 and 1989 with Masaryk historians, and we light candles in memory of known and unknown victims of Nazism and Communism.

We are looking forward to seeing you on 17 November at náměstí Svobody. Bring warm clothing with you. You can bring your own lanterns or get them from us at náměstí Svobody. Another option is coming to our traditional workshop to make your own original lantern. It will be held on 10. 11. from 16:00 to 21:00 in Komenského náměstí.

The event is part of the celebration of the centenary of the beginning of teaching at the Faculty of Arts and the Humanities Week.
