Most of us use our phones every day, often without thinking twice about it. We check notifications, scroll through social media, and reach for our devices during moments of boredom, stress, or curiosity. But when does a habit become a problem? In this interactive workshop, participants will explore the psychology behind smartphone use and discover why digital technologies can be so difficult to put down.
Through self-assessment activities, and group discussion, we will examine how habits are formed, how apps are designed to capture attention, and what research tells us about problematic phone use. Rather than asking whether phones are simply “good” or “bad,” this workshop encourages participants to critically reflect on their own digital behaviour and learn practical strategies for using technology more intentionally.
