Laura Moreno Gámez - Introduction to Oral Literature and Its Research (Jaen, Anthropology)

This lecture will offer an approach to the compilation, study and preservation of oral literature, in order to understand the needs to document current folk manifestations presented on society. To this effect, fundamental themes and formal characteristics of each oral genre will be discussed, as how its performance is related to the social context. Both theoretical and applied perspectives will be presented to learn the main techniques used for this information gathering and how to archive written versions of collected traditions.
